NBC’s hit TV show “Heroes” kicks off it’s second season this year. One month later, fans of the show can head to their local comic book store to pick up the “Heroes” hardcover comic book collection published by DC Comics.

This stunning hardcover collects the amazing online comics based on the smash-hit, Emmy Award-nominated NBC show HEROES! This volume, featuring two amazing covers by comics legends Jim Lee and Alex Ross, also includes an introduction by Masi Oka (Hiro), all 34 chapters of Season One, (which originally appeared on the “Heroes” website), and Tim Sale’s artwork as seen on the show. The comics included have been written and illustrated by some of comics’ and television’s top writers and artists, including Michael Turner, Phil Jimenez, Marcus To, and more!

“The demand for ‘Heroes’ comic books has been huge,” states Marc Bowker, owner of Alter Ego Comics in Lima, Ohio. “We’ve had people coming into the store since the very first episode aired asking for these things.” Bowker added, “hopefully, the ‘Heroes’ hardcover will pave the way for new, printed comic books based on the TV show.”

It’s no surprise to comic book fans that “Heroes” is coming to comic book stores, and that it’s been such a huge hit. One of the show’s producers is Jeph Loeb, a veteran comic book writer best known for writing top notch Superman and Batman comic books. Loeb’s frequent collaborator, artist Tim Sale, did all of the artwork seen on the show’s first season. Another tip of the hat to the show’s comic book roots was the guest appearance of Marvel Comics’ Chairman Emeritus, Stan Lee, as a bus driver in one episode.
