Yesterday, we celebrated, and mourned the losses of real, live heroes and heroines. We look up to these men and women, with all the apparent respect in the world… the problem is, when they’re not in uniform, we treat them far worse than we would treat our civilian neighbors… all the while, many of us unwittingly support the monsters, against which these brave souls fight and die.

Out of hours calls to sort out maintenance problems increase with the number of properties a landlord owns and how many tenants live in them. Handling the problems effectively solves two issues – keeping the tenant satisfied and making sure a property suffers the least damage possible in an emergency.
A few years ago I did an article about Celebrity Speakers. It was actually a chapter in my book. I wondered then why we place so much importance on what celebrities say or do. I still don’t know the answer.

A friend of mine recently suffered the loss of her father. I bought her a sympathy card and then felt that at such a difficult time in her life it was so inadequate. So I wrote her the following letter and share it with you because I believe my message to her is timeless in a time of need.
